The saw is supplied with a new style scabbard that includes an opening at the bottom to allow moisture and sawdust to escape, helping keep the blade dry during storage. To maintain cutting efficiency, the blade should be kept clean, with olive oil recommended for removing resin build-up. When not in use, the saw should be dried and stored in its scabbard.
