The Stein SMB1000 Rigging Bollard is a compact, single-bollard lowering device developed for controlled rigging work in arboriculture. Updated for 2024, this version introduces improvements aimed at durability, rope management, and ease of handling on site. Designed to support precise lowering operations, it allows the working line to be managed confidently while keeping setup straightforward for the operator.

Compact design with improved rope handling

This rigging bollard is built around a single-bollard configuration and incorporates dual-entry rope guides, allowing the rope to be fed from either side depending on the work position. Front and rear aluminium fairleads guide the line smoothly through the device, supporting consistent rope flow during lowering. Because the fairleads are replaceable, long-term wear can be managed without replacing the entire unit.

Controlled lowering with practical load capacity

The Stein SMB1000 Rigging Bollard is rated with a working load limit of 1000 kg and is suitable for use with ropes up to 14 mm in diameter. This capacity supports a wide range of controlled lowering tasks while maintaining a compact footprint. Weighing 4.3 kg, the device can be mounted by a single operator, which helps speed up installation and reduces strain during setup.

Tree protection and secure mounting

To help minimise contact damage to the tree, the device is fitted with replaceable preservation rubbers. These components act as a buffer between the bollard and the stem during use. The supplied ratchet strap uses 50 mm webbing with a breaking strength of 6000 kg and complies with EN12195-2:2001. This strap allows the bollard to be secured to trees up to 145 cm in diameter, supporting stable positioning throughout the operation.
