The Petzl Top Croll Chest Harness is designed to convert compatible sit harnesses into full-body systems for rope access and work at height. Built for professional users, it integrates the CROLL L ventral rope clamp to support efficient rope ascent while improving load distribution when the waistbelt is under tension. This configuration supports controlled movement and stability during climbing and positioning tasks.

Integrated rope ascent support

The built-in CROLL L ventral rope clamp allows the chest harness to work directly with ascending systems, supporting smooth and efficient rope progress. It is compatible with ropes from 10 to 13 mm and is designed to function as part of a complete rope access setup when paired with approved sit harnesses. This integration reduces the need for additional components while keeping the system streamlined and predictable.

Comfort-focused design for extended use

Comfort is enhanced through padded shoulder straps that are widely spaced to help reduce neck chafing during movement. Thin, sliding straps allow greater freedom of movement, while contoured foam and breathable lining across contact zones support comfort throughout long working periods. By helping distribute load over the shoulders when the waistbelt is loaded, the harness reduces pressure concentration during suspension and ascent.

Efficient adjustment and secure integration

The Top Croll connects to the back of the sit harness via a girth hitch and to the front attachment point using a gated connection or suitable connector, depending on the harness model. A FAST opening buckle on the left shoulder allows quick donning and removal, while a DOUBLEBACK self-locking buckle on the right shoulder supports precise adjustment without slippage. Additional features allow positioning of an ASAP’SORBER energy absorber and optional parking of fall-arrest lanyards.
