The FTC Ascent SRT Kit is a compact and lightweight solution developed to support efficient Single Rope Technique ascents for arborists. The kit includes a foot loop and an adjustable neck loop, supplied together in a dedicated storage pouch that attaches neatly to the back of the harness. Designed to take up minimal space while remaining quick to deploy, the kit focuses on adaptability, smooth movement, and practical organisation during ascent phases.

SRT Ascent Function and Workflow

This kit is intended to support SRT ascent by connecting the climber’s harness, knee ascender, and foot in a controlled system. The foot loop can be fixed to the shoe using a carabiner or by slipping the shoe directly into the adjustable loop. The adjustable neck loop helps keep the chest ascender upright and correctly tensioned, supporting a smoother climb without the need to remove the helmet when fitting or removing it.

Foot Loop and Neck Loop Design

The foot loop is compatible with all ascenders on the market and can be adjusted to suit both the climber’s size and preferred setup. The upper strap adjusts from 1 to 1.30 m, while the lower strap adjusts from 0.35 to 0.6 m, allowing precise fitting. The neck loop uses a flat 25 mm elastic band made from polyester and cotton, with a breathable inner surface for comfort. It includes a plastic adjustment buckle and is supplied with a non-locking carabiner measuring 80 mm in length with a stated minimum breaking strength of 12 kN.

Storage Pouch Dimensions and Practical Details

All components are stored in the included SRT bag, designed to sit flat on the harness to reduce bulk. The bag features a stiff rim for easy access, with a drawstring closure fitted with a toggle and end stopper to secure the contents. It is constructed from ripstop fabric with a polyester lining and reinforced seams. The bag measures 15.5 cm in height, 13.5 cm in width, and 6 cm in gusset depth, offering a capacity of 1 litre. This product is not classed as PPE, and responsibility for its use rests with the user.
