The ART Lockjack 2 Basic is a patented, multifunctional ascent and descent device designed for use on running double rope systems in tree climbing. It offers efficient handling, smooth operation and controlled movement, providing both beginner and professional climbers with a safe and energy-saving climbing experience.

Dynamic climbing performance with integrated swivel

The Lockjack 2 compensates for twists in both rope and body position. This significantly improves climbing comfort and control during ascent and descent. The device can be installed mid-line without the need to thread the rope, making setup straightforward and efficient.

Compatible with a wide rope range

The Lockjack 2 is certified according to EN 358 and designed for textile ropes meeting EN 1891 with diameters from 11–13 mm. The device is supplied with two interchangeable clutches: one for 11/12 mm ropes and one for 12/13 mm ropes, allowing optimal performance across the supported rope range.

Robust construction with replaceable wear parts

The body and components are machined from solid aluminium for durability and precision. All wearing parts are replaceable, supporting a declared service life of 7 years. The Lockjack 2 is approved for descent with two persons and has been tested to 15 kN for 3 minutes, with a breaking strength of 23 kN. The device weighs approximately 310 g.

Recommended carabiners for the Lockjack include Petzl OK Triact, OK Ball Lock and Am'D Ball Lock. When using other carabiners, ensure that the ball of the release lever cannot pass through the karabiner, as this may result in uncontrolled descent or fall risk.
