The STIHL MS 300 C-M Petrol Chainsaw is a high-performance professional chainsaw developed for forestry, arboriculture and demanding everyday cutting work. Replacing the MS 261 C-M, it combines a 53.3 cc engine producing 3.3 kW with a powerhead weight of just 4.8 kg, delivering an excellent power-to-weight ratio for pruning, processing timber, cutting firewood and felling small to medium-sized trees.

Professional cutting performance

The MS 300 C-M features STIHL M-Tronic 3.0 electronic engine management, which automatically regulates ignition timing and fuel metering according to working conditions including temperature, altitude and fuel quality. Combined with the STIHL 2-MIX engine, it delivers strong, consistent performance with efficient fuel consumption. The larger engine provides 15% more torque than the MS 261 C-M, while rapid chain acceleration takes the chain from 0 to 100 km/h in just 0.25 seconds. It is equipped with a STIHL .325" RS Pro saw chain and Light 04 guide bar for precise, efficient cutting.

Designed for accurate and comfortable handling

A compact body, low gyroscopic forces and improved rear handle geometry support controlled handling during felling, limbing, snedding and plunge cutting. Parallel plunge-cutting direction lines on the fan housing work alongside the vertical felling line to help guide cutting direction and depth. A wide knee support and STIHL anti-vibration system further improve comfort during extended professional use.

Practical features for everyday forestry work

The MS 300 C-M includes an adjustable oil pump, 50% fuel level marker, side-mounted chain tensioning, captive sprocket cover nuts, tool-free fuel cap and decompression valve. Its long-life HD2 air filter system with pre-separation extends filter service intervals, while the STIHL Ematic system delivers chain oil where required and can reduce oil consumption by up to 50%. An optimised rib pattern underneath the saw also helps it glide along trunks during snedding while reducing dirt build-up.
