An openable cam allows the Rescucender to be installed or removed at any point along the rope, without needing access to a rope end. Independent safety catches on each side of the device allow controlled opening while reducing the risk of accidental release. Visual indicators show when the catches are unlocked, supporting clear and confident operation. The cam is integrated into the frame of the device, improving handling and reducing exposed components during use.
