The Petzl Eject Friction Saver is an adjustable tree care friction saver designed for efficient rope management and easy ground retrieval. Built to support modern arborist techniques, it allows the work rope to be installed without damaging the tree, even in narrow forks, while providing smooth rope movement and precise adjustment at the anchor point.

Flexible anchoring with choking adjustment

The Eject friction saver offers multiple setup configurations, including wrap-around and choked installations, and it can also link two anchors on small branches. Its integrated choking function includes an adjuster that allows precise length adjustment of the strap, supporting accurate positioning in a wide range of tree structures. The special design helps protect the tree during use, while the slim strap and loop reduce the risk of snagging when installing or retrieving the system.

High-efficiency pulley for smooth rope movement

An integrated very high-efficiency pulley optimises rope glide at the anchor, improving efficiency during ascents and movement within the canopy. The pulley uses sealed ball bearings and a 28 mm sheave to deliver a stated efficiency of 95 percent, supporting smooth, predictable rope handling under load. The system is recommended for doubled rope techniques and may also be used on single rope systems, allowing flexibility across different climbing methods. Two-person use is possible when carrying out a rescue, with a maximum load of 250 kg.

Ground retrieval with secure locking design

The Petzl Eject Friction Saver is designed to be easily retrievable from the ground using a dedicated 21 mm yellow retrieval ball. Once the rope exits the pulley, the gated attachment point unlocks via the retrieval ball to allow controlled recovery. The gated attachment point remains locked while the rope is installed in the pulley, supporting secure use during climbing. The system supports compliance with the ANSI Z133 standard and has a breaking strength of 25 kN. It weighs 490 g and is compatible with ropes from 11 mm to 13 mm in diameter. Certifications include CE EN 795 B, CE EN 12278, UKCA, EAC, and TS 16415.
