ISC Rope Wrench - Device Only

The ISC RP283 Rope Wrench is a specialised device developed to achieve optimal friction performance on 13 mm (1/2″) rope. Building on feedback from climbers using the original RP280 model, this version is specifically optimised for 13 mm diameter rope to provide balanced and controlled friction during SRT climbing.

Designed for 13 mm rope performance

While the original RP280 model covers a rope range of 11–13 mm, climber feedback indicated that friction levels increased noticeably when moving to 13 mm rope. The RP283 has therefore been engineered with a wider profile and a specially designed sheave groove to deliver friction levels comparable to using 11 mm rope with the RP280 model.

The RP283 is easily identifiable by its black sheave. The wider sheave groove accommodates 13 mm rope, ensuring smooth engagement and optimised friction performance throughout ascent and descent.

Compatibility and usage notes

The RP283 Rope Wrench is compatible with the range of ISC Tethers for supply outside of the European Union only. As there is no applicable standard, a tether cannot be CE certified as an individual component. This device is not for primary life support.
