The FTC Spider Friction Rigging Balancer is an adjustable rigging sling designed to hold branches horizontally or maintain their original orientation during controlled lowering operations. Developed for professional tree work, it allows independent adjustment of each rope length using a friction knot, giving precise control over balance and positioning. Its adaptable design supports a wide range of rigging configurations, making it suitable for complex branch handling where stability and accuracy are essential.

Independent adjustment for controlled branch positioning

The Spider Friction system enables each rope leg to be adjusted independently using a friction knot, allowing fine control when balancing branches. This makes it possible to level or orient loads accurately during rigging operations. The system is designed to hold branches in a horizontal position or preserve their natural orientation, supporting safer and more predictable handling during dismantling or sectional removal.

Versatile rigging configurations with expansion options

The adjustable sling can be used in a wide range of configurations depending on the rigging requirement. A fourth attachment hole allows the system to be enhanced with additional ORVET slings, enabling three-point rigging of branches for increased stability. This flexibility supports advanced rigging setups where load control and balance are critical, particularly on complex or uneven limbs.

Robust construction and defined load ratings

The Spider Friction is constructed from double braid 100 percent polyester with a 24-strand structure, delivering durability and consistent handling. The main sling has a diameter of 16 mm and is spliced on each end. It offers an elongation of 3 percent at 50 percent of minimum breaking strength. With a minimum breaking strength of 59 kN and a working load limit of 8.4 kN, the system provides clear performance parameters for professional use. The complete system weighs 1.8 kg and complies with Machinery Directive 2006/42/CE.
