Designed as part of the FTC climbing rope range, it uses bright orange and blue strands mixed directly into the cover to create a moiré visual effect that remains easy to spot in complex canopies. The rope is supplied with one factory splice and is intended for demanding day-to-day tree climbing work. Stable diameter and abrasion resistance The Nigma is manufactured from 100 percent polyester, with both the cover and core contributing to long-term dimensional stability. The rope maintains its 12 mm diameter over time and does not swell, supporting predictable interaction with climbing devices. Its 24-strand braided construction provides strong resistance to abrasion, helping the rope withstand repeated movement through branches and hardware during professional use. Compatible with modern climbing devices FTC splices the Nigma using the Slim TECH® splice, designed to pass smoothly through commonly used mechanical prusiks. This allows efficient progression and repositioning when used with devices such as the ZigZag or SpiderJack. The splice offers a compact termination that supports clean rope flow without compromising handling. The rope is also stated as having no cover-to-core slippage, supporting consistent performance throughout its service life. Certified strength and climbing performance The Nigma has a minimum breaking strength of 35 kN and complies with CE EN 1891 Type A requirements. It has a stated elongation of 3.4 percent, supporting controlled movement during climbing and work positioning. With a weight of 105 g per metre and a construction of 55.7 percent polyester cover and 44.3 percent polyester core, the rope balances strength, handling, and durability. It is available in standard lengths from 20 m up to 60 m, with other lengths available on request, and can be spliced on one or both ends.
