The FTC Joker Light Friction Saver / Base Anchor - 200cm is a versatile cambium saver developed for professional tree care, designed to adapt to a wide range of anchoring and redirection tasks during the working day. Suitable for use with both single rope and doubled rope techniques, it offers a flexible solution for canopy anchoring while remaining lightweight and easy to manage in the tree. The updated Joker Light range is lighter and easier to spot, supporting efficient setup and retrieval during professional climbing operations.

Adjustable anchoring for canopy use

The Joker Light is easy to adjust in length using integrated loops positioned every 10 cm, allowing the anchor to be shortened precisely to suit the working position. It can be used at full length as a simple anchor or shortened using the loops to refine rope positioning in the crown. The 200 cm version is supplied with one ring and is intended primarily for tree-based anchoring rather than ground anchorage, offering a balanced length for movement and positioning within the canopy.

Flexible configurations and system combinations

This cambium saver can be used on its own or combined with another Joker Light or a Choker Joker Light using a girth hitch to extend the anchoring system on larger trunks. This allows arborists to build longer anchor setups while retaining the option to retrieve the system from the ground. The Joker Light can also be used for redirects, whether retrievable or fixed, supporting varied climbing strategies as work progresses through the tree.

Construction, ratings, and certified performance

The strap is manufactured from 100 percent polyester webbing with a width of 19 mm, providing a balance of durability and manageable handling. Hollow stainless steel rings are used to deliver high strength with reduced weight, with a stated ring distortion strength of 30 kN. Technical ratings include strap simple traction of 2,600 daN, a combined rating of 2,475 daN when used with a girth hitch, and loop seam strength of 665 daN. The Joker Light is certified to EN 795 B and TS 16415:2012 standards and is approved for use by two users. The 200 cm one-ring version has a listed weight of 225 g, and the range references a wood retrieval ball with a diameter of 30 mm.
