Edelrid Woodpecker 11.7mm Climbing Rope - Orange / Grey - 1 Splice

Edelrid Woodpecker 11.7mm Climbing Rope - Orange / Grey - 1 Splice

The Edelrid Woodpecker 11.7mm Climbing Rope - Orange / Grey - 1 Splice is a premium arborist climbing rope designed for professional tree work where smooth handling, reliable strength, and compact rope termination are essential. Developed with an especially soft grip, it supports precise control during ascent, work positioning, and descent. Its construction and termination are optimised for modern climbing systems that demand consistent performance and clean rope travel.

Soft handling and controlled rope behaviour

The Woodpecker rope is engineered to provide an especially soft grip, delivering a comfortable and confidence-inspiring feel in the hand during extended use. This characteristic supports smooth rope management and predictable control when moving through the canopy. With a diameter of 11.70 mm and a static elongation of 2.1 percent, the rope offers controlled movement with minimal stretch, making it well suited to precise arborist applications and use with self-braking descenders.

Compact SPLY splice for device compatibility

This version is supplied with a single factory splice using Edelrid’s patented SPLY termination. The splice is designed to remain extremely compact, with no widening of the rope diameter and only a minimal increase in thickness at the splice eye. This low-profile design allows the splice to pass smoothly through most common SRT and DRT devices, removing the need to manually pull the rope through equipment during setup and transitions.

Certified strength and durable construction

The handmade SPLY splice provides added safety by allowing part of the rope core to pass through the entire splice eye, contributing to structural integrity and dependable performance. The rope features a polyester and polyamide construction with a core proportion of 55 percent and a sheath proportion of 45 percent. Weighing 94 g per metre, it offers a minimum breaking strength of 25 kN and is certified to EN 1891 Type A as a Static A rope, supporting professional arborist use.
