The DMM Nomad 11.8mm Lanyard - Mango Orange is a friction hitch based work positioning lanyard system developed for controlled movement and precise adjustment while working at height. Built around a bespoke 11.8 mm rope, it offers reliable handling, durability, and consistent performance in demanding arborist environments. The bright mango orange colour supports quick visual identification, helping avoid confusion with main climbing lines or secondary lanyards during complex work positioning tasks.

Work Positioning Performance and Handling

The Nomad lanyard uses a market-proven 24 strand polyester cover with a nylon core, delivering good abrasion resistance and a secure grip. The 11.8 mm diameter delivers a balanced, agile feel that remains easy to handle in cold or wet conditions, without the bulk of a thicker rope. Bespoke rope and hitch cord combinations are designed to work smoothly together, supporting consistent friction hitch performance across a wide range of working conditions.

System Compatibility and Configuration Options

This lanyard system is supplied with a colour matched Locksafe Ultra O, Fidus 8.5mm Eye to Eye and DMM TAP 2, delivering smooth adjustment, secure attachment and reliable day-to-day performance. The three-hole design supports additional configurations for complex work positioning setups. It is compatible with DMM Ultra O connectors to maintain correct interaction between pulley, hitch, and harness connection. The Nomad shares diameter options, colours, and lengths with the Nomad+ system, but is supplied without the Director Yoke connector and 6.5 mm Fidus thimble loop.

Durability, Certification, and Rescue Use

All components within the Nomad system are replaceable, supporting extended service life. The lanyard is certified to EN358:2018 and EN795B:2012 for work positioning and restraint, and is not intended for fall arrest. It is also certified as an anchor assembly for two-person rescue loads under PD CEN/TS 16415:2013, offering added versatility for professional rescue scenarios when required.
