The DMM Nomad+ 11.8mm Lanyard - Mango Orange is a complete friction hitch based work positioning lanyard system designed for controlled movement and precise adjustment while working at height. Built around a bespoke 11.8 mm rope, it delivers dependable handling, durability, and consistent performance in professional arborist environments. The bright mango orange colour improves visibility and helps avoid confusion with main climbing lines or secondary lanyards during complex positioning tasks.

Work Positioning Performance and Rope Construction

The Nomad+ uses a market-proven 24 strand double braid rope with a polyester cover and nylon core, providing good abrasion resistance and a secure, confidence-inspiring grip. The 11.8 mm diameter delivers a balanced, agile feel that remains easy to handle in cold or wet conditions, without the bulk of a thicker rope. Bespoke rope and hitch cord combinations are designed to interact smoothly, supporting reliable friction hitch performance across a wide range of working conditions.

Complete System Components and Compatibility

Supplied as a complete system, the Nomad+ includes a colour matched Locksafe Ultra O, Director Yoke connector, Triple Attachment Pulley 2, a Fidus 8.5 mm eye to eye, and a Fidus 6.5 mm thimble loop. The Director Yoke provides an extremely short connection length at the termination and helps maintain correct orientation, while remaining removable for maintenance away from the rope. The TAP 2 allows early advancement of the friction hitch with minimal sit-back and offers three attachment holes for additional work positioning configurations.

Certification, Rescue Use, and Longevity

All components in the Nomad+ system are replaceable, supporting a long service life. The lanyard is certified to EN358:2018 and EN795B:2012 for work positioning and restraint, and is not intended for fall arrest. It is also certified as an anchor assembly for two-person rescue loads under PD CEN/TS 16415:2013, providing added versatility for rescue scenarios. The system is certified in multiple doubled, single, restraint, and rescue configurations, offering flexibility for varied arborist tasks.
