The STIHL GTA 40 Battery Pruner Set is a dedicated battery-powered pruning tool designed for professional use. Supplied as a complete set with two AS 2 batteries, charger and storage box, it is part of the STIHL AS System. Designed for use on the ground or in the air, it is suitable for tree and shrub care, horticulture and landscaping work, as well as processing wood on construction sites and working in tree canopies or during crown reduction tasks.

Controlled Cutting Performance

The GTA 40 is equipped with a powerful EC engine and a 1/4” PM3 saw chain, supporting clean and precise cutting. A variable chain speed allows full control over cutting performance during use, helping adapt to different materials and applications. This supports consistent results across a wide range of professional pruning tasks.

Practical Features for Efficient Use

The pruner includes side-mounted chain tensioning on the sprocket cover for easy adjustment and automatic chain lubrication to support continuous operation. A tool-free chain oil tank provides sufficient volume for use with six AS 2 batteries. The charge level indicator is positioned on the top of the tool for clear visibility during use, while the supplied AL 5-2 charger allows two batteries to be recharged simultaneously in 50 minutes.

Ergonomic Design and Safe Handling

Designed for two-handed operation, the GTA 40 features a soft rubberised handle and upper grip to help prevent slipping. The claw-shaped deflector separates the upper grip area from the cutting attachment, supporting safer handling. A rocker control on both sides allows use by both right- and left-handed users, while an attachment ring enables the tool to be hooked onto a belt for easy access when working.
